LEKNES

Our staff will be waiting for participants upon their arrival at Leknes Airport (LKN) in Norway. After checking into the hotel, we’ll enjoy a welcome dinner and get ready for our first night of Northern Lights hunting from one of the most photogenic beaches in Lofoten. 

LEKNES - HENNINGSVAER

We’ll wake up very early in the morning for our first sunrise on the beautiful beaches of Leknes. We’ll be surrounded by mountains with dramatic rock formations right by the sea. Then we’ll visit Henningsvaer Island, famous for its fishing port and the soccer field in the middle of an archipelago. In the evening, we’ll be ready for another night of Northern Lights in this beautiful location. 

SVOLVAER

After breakfast, we’ll set off for Svolvaer Island to take a boat tour through the archipelago. The goal will be to admire the beautiful fjords hidden in the sea and photograph the majestic arctic eagles in the midst of fishing. It will be a spectacular experience! At sunset, we’ll visit photo spots among frozen lakes and mountains. 

HAMNOY

We’ll head to the highlight of the tour: the red Norwegian cabins will be our home for the next few days. Along the way, we’ll visit numerous white-sand beaches and stop at the colorful port of Nusfjord. Then we’ll arrive at the famous Hamnoy Bridge to capture one of the tour’s most iconic views at sunset. We’ll stay up late to photograph this spot under the Northern Lights. 

REINE

We’ll wake up very early for the sunrise session in Reine, another must-see highlight of the tour. Amid cabins, fjords, and reflections, we’ll find plenty of photo opportunities with breathtaking views of the mountains facing the sea. In the afternoon, we’ll visit a “secret” spot—a bay surrounded by turquoise waters—to take long-exposure photos. At night, we’ll have another chance to capture the Northern Lights.

SAKRISOY

We’ll wake up for the sunrise session at a scenic viewpoint near Sakrisoy and its yellow cabins. Then we’ll visit the last inhabited island in Lofoten, which has a peculiar and short name: “Å.” For sunset, we’ll take a short hike along snow-covered trails to photograph waterfalls and frozen rivers. Thanks to the use of neutral density filters, we’ll capture striking, minimalist images. At night, we’ll keep watch for another night of the Northern Lights. 

HAMNOY - LEKNES

After breakfast, we’ll say goodbye to the red cabins and head back to Leknes. Along the way, we’ll visit the beaches of Skagsanden, the church in Flakstad, and many fishing villages. It’ll be a wonderful day because we’ll get to visit the fjords we weren’t able to photograph in the best light. We’ll stop every few miles! In the afternoon, we’ll settle into our comfortable hotel to review photos and hold a workshop on editing in Lightroom. If the night is clear, we’ll head out on our final hunt for the Northern Lights. 

LEKNES

Our big trip is coming to an end. After breakfast, we’ll head to Leknes Airport.
