NORWAY: The Jewel of Arcticrctic
Welcome to our photography tour of Norway, designed to capture the magic of the Arctic fall and the spectacular dance of the Northern Lights. Our adventure will begin in Tromsø, known as the “Gateway to the Arctic,” a vibrant city surrounded by majestic mountains and fjords. Here, we’ll explore its cultural scene and prepare for our first nights of photography under skies lit by the aurora.
We will continue on to the Senja Peninsula, a little-explored natural paradise where the mountains drop steeply into the sea, creating breathtakingly dramatic landscapes. The golden and reddish hues of autumn blend with the ocean’s reflections, creating dreamlike scenes within the fjords.
Finally, we’ll arrive at the legendary Lofoten Islands, famous for their rugged peaks, fishing villages, and white-sand beaches that contrast with the Arctic cold. Fall dresses the islands in a warm palette that enhances their wild beauty. During the trip, each day will be dedicated to making the most of the best natural light, with golden sunsets and magical nights under the Northern Lights.

DAY 01:
Tromsø, Norway
Our adventure begins with our arrival at Tromsø Airport (TOS), where we’ll be waiting for you to take you to our comfortable hotel in the city center. We’ll meet up with the group for dinner to get to know each other and take a stroll through the Arctic Capital. With any luck, we’ll see the Northern Lights on our first night and be ready to capture them.
DAY 02 and DAY 03
Senja Peninsula, Mount Segla
After breakfast, we’ll head to the Senja Peninsula, which boasts spectacular scenery and, thanks to its geographic location, is one of the best spots to witness the dance of the Northern Lights. We’ll spend two days exploring the most scenic spots on the Senja Peninsula, where we’ll go on our first hike to the Mount Segla viewpoint (640 meters)—one of the most spectacular vantage points in the world—and enjoy a 360-degree view of the Arctic fjords.
DAY 04 and DAY 05:
Lofoten Islands, Svolvær
After breakfast, we’ll set out on the longest leg of the trip. Our destination will be the Lofoten Islands, specifically the town of Svolvaer, considered the oldest city in the Arctic, whose beautiful bay will provide the perfect backdrop for stunning photos at sunset and sunrise. We’ll take a boat tour on high-speed boats to visit beautiful hidden islands and watch the Arctic eagles in flight, as they amaze us with their skills as master fishermen.
DAY 06, DAY 07, and DAY 08
Lofoten Islands, Reine, and Hamnøy
Do you remember Norway’s classic red houses? That’s where we’ll be for the next few days!
This is surely the most iconic location in the Lofoten Islands, and thanks to its geographical setting, it will allow us to visit many attractions, including beaches, forests, waterfalls, and scenic viewpoints. We’ll go on some very famous hikes—highly sought after by many photographers—to capture images from the highest points of the Lofoten Islands. We’ll also have the opportunity to visit the villages and enjoy exquisite Nordic cuisine. At night, we’ll be on the lookout to photograph the Northern Lights in one of Norway’s most photogenic settings.
DAY 09
Leknes, Henningsvær, Narvik
Continuing our tour of the Lofoten Islands, a visit to the beautiful beaches of Leknes and the picturesque village of Henningsvaer—with its famous soccer field—is a must. These places will amaze us with their landscapes, where the mountains meet the sea, forming numerous archipelagos. We’ll arrive at our hotel in the evening for dinner and to bid farewell to our great adventure through Norway.
DAY 10:
Narvik – Evenes Narvik Airport
After breakfast, our staff will transport the participants to Evenes Narvik Airport (EVE) for their return flight to Oslo.

Jheison Huerta
The expedition will be led by Peruvian photographer Jheison Huerta and his team of collaborators. He is the founder of the Photo Andes agency, which has been organizing photography tours since 2014 to some of most photogenic destinations in the world, such as Peru, Norway, Iceland, Morocco, Bolivia, Italy, and Argentina, among others.
He is currently a Sony brand ambassador and Alpha Partner for Latin America. Jheison Huerta has received international recognition for his work in promoting astrophotography which earned him recognition fromNASA through the APOD (Astronomy Picture of the Day), He also teaches the astrophotography course on the Domestika platform, and his work has been published in leading media outlets: BBC, National Geographic, History, Mirror, Telemundo, Globo, El Comercio, and many more. He was nominated by the Photopills app as one of the 25 most inspiring photographers in the world, and his work is featured the book “Photopillers of the Year 2020.”
He is currently collaborating with National GeographicUK on the production of the series“Welcome to the Earth,” hosted by Will Smith and streaming on Disney+.
