ICELAND: The Land of Ice and Fire
We’ve organized a fantastic 10-day photography tour of Iceland’s most photogenic locations. It’s a must-visit destination on our list of places to see time and time again. This time, we’ll be visiting Iceland during the winter season, when the island is at its most photogenic thanks to the striking contrast between the snow-covered landscapes and the dark volcanic terrain.
Iceland is one of the best places to witness the natural spectacle of the Northern Lights. Having the opportunity to watch the dance of the Arctic Lady will be an experience you’ll never forget. Your guides will keep a close eye on weather conditions and forecasts so you can photograph them against the most spectacular backdrops. You’ll also learn the right photography techniques to capture the Northern Lights with your camera or smartphone.
We’ll have our comfortable vehicles at our disposal, allowing us to make strategic stops and go “aurora hunting” at any time. The tour will begin in the capital, Reykjavík, and we’ll head west to visit the iconic landscapes of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, capturing sights such as Mount Kirkjufell, the Black Church in Búðir, and the Lóndrangar cliffs. You’ll also visit Iceland’s stunning South Coast to see the breathtaking Skógafoss and Seljalandfoss waterfalls, the Ice Caves,Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon,Diamond Beach, and the famous Black Beach in Vik. We’ll head to the eastern side of the island to visit the Stokksnes Peninsula , home to the magnificentVestrahorn mountain and its black sand beach.
Get your five senses ready—you're in for an unforgettable visual adventure!
TOUR START DATE:

DAY 1
Reykjavík, Iceland
The first day begins with your arrival atKeflavík International Airport(KEF), where our staff will be waiting to escort you to our comfortable hotel in Reykjavík. We’ll meet up with the group to get to know each other and take a stroll through the downtown area of Iceland’s capital. If the forecast for the night is favorable, we’ll get ready for our first viewing of the Northern Lights from a strategic spot in the city.

DAY 2 and DAY 3
Snæfellsnes Peninsula
After breakfast, our adventure in Iceland begins. We’ll set off for the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, which boasts some of the most photogenic landscapes in the entire country. Awaiting us are wild coastlines, the spectacular basalt column cliffs of Arnarstapi, the charming black church ofBúðir, theBúðahraun lava field, the impressive and unique sea stacks ofLóndrangar, and the most photographed mountain in the world: the famous Kirkjufell and its waterfall. Snæfellsnes is one of the best places in Iceland to witness the Northern Lights in all their splendor, so we’ll be on the lookout at all times to head out with our cameras at night.

DAY 4:
Seljalandsfoss – Skógafoss – Reynisfjara
After the sunrise session at Kirkjufell, we’ll make our way to the epic landscape of Iceland’s south coast. Along the way, we’ll stop at the magnificent Seljalandsfoss, a beautiful waterfall that you can walk right behind. Nearby is the magnificent Skógafoss, a thunderous giant with a dizzying 60-meter drop. You can get up close to this beast to capture the texture of the water as it plunges toward the river below, or simply stay back where you can photograph the waterfall framed by snow-capped cliffs.

THE NORTHERN LIGHTS
ICELAND is one of the best places in the world to witness the magnificent Northern Lights.
They are one of nature’s greatest spectacles. An aurora occurs when charged particles from the Sun collide with Earth’s magnetic field. These particles, originating from the solar wind, are guided by Earth’s magnetic field toward the poles, where they release the energy they’ve acquired in the form of light. This light can vary in intensity and wavelength, which affects its color.
Our tour depends on weather conditions, as the weather in Iceland can be quite unpredictable, forcing us to check the forecast constantly. While the chances of seeing the Northern Lights are very high, we cannot guarantee that they will be visible on any given day of the tour, but we will go out to hunt for them whenever possible.

DAY 5
Vatnajökull National Park
Today we’ll head to Vatnajökull National Park, spending the morning photographing its incredible landscapes of lava rocks, the glistening tongues of the glaciers, the impressive waterfalls, and the long stretches of desert-like black sand dotted with bright white snow. We’ll spend the afternoon in the serenity of the Jökulsárlón, where large icebergs float on the of the water, before drifting out to sea. After the long journey, we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner at one of Iceland’s most iconic restaurants.

DAY 6
National Park
Today we’ll have the chance to visit and photograph the impressive Ice Caves of the Vatnajökull Glacier (Europe’s largest glacier), an experience that will leave us speechless due to the surreal landscape we’ll see inside the glacier, with the filtering light painting the enormous ice blocks in shades of turquoise. (The excursion to the Ice Caves is optional and not included in the tour price).
In the afternoon, we will return to the Glacier Lagoon to photograph the beautiful Diamond Beach. This beach is perfect for practicing long-exposure techniques, as the waves wash over the icebergs resting on the black sand, creating a dreamlike “silk” effect. At night, we’ll be on the lookout to photograph the Northern Lights in this magical place.

DAY 7
Höfn – Stokksnes Peninsula
After breakfast, we will head toward the Stokksnes Peninsula, home to the impressive Vestrahorn. This mountain is also known as “Batman Mountain” because of its jagged peaks, which resemble the iconic superhero’s logo. Its close-up view offers a wealth of photographic opportunities, from undulating black sand dunes amidst the snow to grassy fields and frozen puddles. Depending on the tide, we may be able to photograph Vestrahorn’s reflection on the black beach. We’ll continue photographing the Vestrahorn until sunset, hoping that the Northern Lights will unfold over this impressive mountain.

DAY 8
Skaftafell National Park – Vik
We’ll enter theSkaftafell Nature Reserve, famous for its beautiful landscapes. Here, you’ll be able to photograph glacier tongues, lagoons, the peaks of majestic snow-capped mountains, frozen waterfalls, and rivers flowing from the glaciers. We’ll visit the famous Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon. This canyon is renowned for its beauty and its impressive rock walls, which have earned it numerous appearances in movies and music videos. We’ll pass through the town of Vik to photograph a few spots before waiting for sunset amidst an epic waterfall.

DAY 9
Golden Circle – Keflavik
Today we’ll spend the day exploring the three main attractions of the Golden Circle route: Þingvellir National Park, theGeysir geothermal area, andGullfoss waterfall. We’ll marvel at Geysir’s massive 20-meter-high water jet, and the nearby Gullfoss waterfall will offer us a spectacular view of the forces of nature. The highlight of our visit will be the impressive Öxarárfoss with truly impressive frozen close-ups. Once we have finished photographing along the Golden Circle, we will head to our hotel in Keflavik.
