ICELAND: The Land of Ice and Fire
We have organized a great 10-day Photo Tour to the most photogenic locations in Iceland. A must-see destination in our list of places to visit a thousand times. This time we will visit Iceland during the winter season, when the island presents its most photogenic version due to the great contrast between the snowy landscapes and the dark volcanic geography.
Iceland is one of the best places to appreciate the natural spectacle of the Aurora Borealis . Having the opportunity to contemplate the dance of the Arctic lady will be an experience you will not forget. Your guides will be attentive to the weather conditions and forecasts, so that you can photograph them in the most spectacular landscapes. You will also learn the proper photographic techniques to capture the Aurora Borealis with your camera or cell phone.
We will have at our disposal our comfortable vehicles that will allow us to make strategic stops and go "aurora hunting" at all times. The tour will start in the capital Reykjavík and we will drive west to visit the iconic landscapes of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, capturing places such as: Mount Kirkjufell, the black church of Búðir and the cliffs of Lóndrangar. In addition, you will visit Iceland's stunning South Coast to see the impressive Skógafoss waterfalls, Seljalandfoss, the Ice Caves, Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon, Diamond Beach and the famous Black Beach of Vik. We will reach the east side of the island to visit the Stokksnes peninsula with the wonderful Vestrahorn mountain with its black dune beach.
Prepare your five senses because you will live an unforgettable visual adventure: Iceland is waiting for you!

DAY 02 and DAY 03
Snæfellsnes Peninsula
After breakfast, we drive to the Snæfellsnes peninsula, home to some of the most photogenic scenery in the country.
Wild coastlines, the spectacular basalt column cliffs of Arnarstapi, the charming black church of Búðir, the lava field of Búðahraun, the impressive and peculiar sea pillars of Lóndrangar and the most photographed mountain in the world: the famous Kirkjuffel and its waterfall await you.
Snæfellsnes is also one of the best places in Iceland to contemplate one of the absolute wonders of nature, the Northern Lights, so we will be attentive at all times to go out with the camera at night.
DAY 04:
Snæfellsnes - Seljalandsfoss - Skógafoss - Reynisfjara
After the sunrise session on Kirkjufell, we will make our way to the epic scenery of Iceland's south coast.
Along the way, we'll stop at the glorious Seljalandsfoss, a beautiful waterfall that you'll be able to tour in 360 degrees.
In winter the rocks surrounding this waterfall can be frozen, making for perfect close-ups.
Nearby is the magnificent Skógafoss waterfall, a thundering giant with a dizzying 60-meter drop.
You can get up close to this beast to capture the texture of the water rushing down to the river below, or simply stand back where you can
stay back where you can shoot the waterfall framed by snow-covered cliffs.
THE NORTHERN LIGHTS
ICELAND is one of the most privileged places to observe a great night show: the Aurora Borealis.
The northern lights are one of the greatest spectacles of nature. An aurora is produced when charged particles from the Sun collide with the Earth's magnetic field. These particles from the solar wind are guided by the Earth's magnetic field and head towards the poles, returning the acquired energy in the form of light. This light can be produced with different intensity and wavelengths, which affect the color of the light we see.
Our Photographic Expedition always depends on the weather conditions, as the weather in Iceland can be very unpredictable indeed. Regarding the Aurora Borealis, although it is very likely that they can be seen, it cannot be guaranteed that they will be visible on any given day of the tour, it cannot be guaranteed that they will be visible on any given day of the tour, but we will go hunting for them at all times.
DAY 05
Vatnajökull National Park
Today we will head to Vatnajokull National Park, spending the morning photographing its incredible lava rock landscapes,
glistening glacier tongues, impressive waterfalls and long stretches of desert-like black sand dotted with sparkling white snow.
dotted with glistening white snow.
The afternoon will be spent in the serenity of the glacier's lagoon Jökulsárlónwhere large icebergs float on the glassy surface of the water glassy surface of the water, before drifting out to sea. As the sun begins to set, we will head to Diamond Beach, for a chance to capture the glorious sunlight shining through the ice chunks on the shore.
This beach is perfect for practicing long exposure techniques, as the waves sweep over the icebergs sitting on the black sand, creating a dreamy "silk" effect. At night we will be on the lookout for the Northern Lights.
DAY 06
Vatnajökull National Park
This morning we return to the Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon for a leisurely sunrise photo session. Today we will have the chance to visit and photograph the impressive Ice Caves of the Vatnajokull Glacier (the largest glacier in Europe), an experience that will leave us speechless by the surreal landscape that we will see inside the glacier with the filtering light that paints the huge blocks of ice with turquoise tones. (The activity in the Ice Caves is optional and not included in the price of the Expedition).
At night we may have another opportunity to photograph the Northern Lights, we will try to capture them over the lagoon of the Jokulsarlon Glacier.
DAY 07
Vatnajökull National Park - Höfn
After breakfast, we will drive to the Stokksnes Peninsula, home of the impressive Vestrahorn Mountain.
This mountain is also known as "Batman Mountain" for its jagged peaks, resembling the iconic superhero's logo. Its foreground is full of compositions, from rolling black sand dunes amidst the snow, to grassy crops and icy puddles.
Depending on the tide, we may be able to photograph Vestrahorn's reflection on the black beach. We will continue to photograph the
Vestrahorn until the sun sets, in the hope that the Northern Lights will unfold over this impressive mountain.
