The Huayhuash Mountain Range
A journey that impresses with the unspoiled beauty of the northern Peruvian Andes, where we will be surrounded by majestic mountains over 6,000 meters high and beautiful turquoise glacial lakes. An event designed for photographers and nature lovers who want to experience mountain trekking with all the services and safety protocols required to make this event an unforgettable experience.
We have chosen the best season to visit the Cordillera Huayhuash in order to capture the colors, atmospheres, and contrasts that enhance the landscapes of the area. We will focus our attention on the landscape, taking advantage of the day and also the night, when we will be accompanied by the Milky Way in all its splendor. We have also planned a period of acclimatization in the city of Huaraz (3,020 meters) to gradually adjust to the altitude.
Huayhuash is one of the most beautiful mountain trekking circuits in the world, but it is also very physically demanding, as the hikes are at an altitude of over 4,000 meters. That is why we recommend that participants bein good health, physically fit, and familiar with hiking at high altitudes. Participants who feel they are not physically prepared can request the services of a personal horse to help them on the most demanding sections.

DAY 01: Huaraz, Peru
Our meeting point will be the airport in the city of Huaraz, Peru: Anta Airport (ATA).
Upon arrival in the city of Huaraz, our staff will transfer the group to our hotel to settle in and prepare for the first day of acclimatization, where we will visit a scenic viewpoint for the first photo session.
DAY 02: Huaraz
After lunch, we will spend our second day acclimatizing in Huaraz. We will walk to a panoramic viewpoint from where we can photograph the sunset and the blue hour in front of the beautiful Cordillera Blanca mountain range.

DAY 03: Huayhuash
Our adventure begins with the embarkation to the Cordillera Huayhuash, making strategic stops to photograph lakes and archaeological sites.

from where our adventure will begin with the arrival to our first Camp Carhuacocha (4,125 mts).

DAY 04: Huayhuash
After photographing our first sunrise in Huayhuash and having breakfast with a unique view.
We will begin the trekking ascent that will take us to visit one of the most spectacular places: The Mirador de las 03 Lagunas.
We will walk a trail at the foot of the Nevado Siulá until we reach a viewpoint where we can photograph the 03 Lagunas from above.
Possibly the most spectacular mountain location in the Peruvian Andes.
Distance to travel: 14 kilometers total
DAY 05: Huayhuash
Our day will begin very early in the morning to photograph the sunrise which is one of the unmissable spectacles in front of the majestic Nevado Yerupajá: the second highest mountain in Peru with its 6,635 meters of altitude.
After a good breakfast, we will walk to our next campsite. With an impressive panoramic view of the main mountains of the Cordillera Huayhuash.

DAY 06: Huayhuash
To the discovery of the great snowy Jirishanca. We will make a trekking to climb to a viewpoint and photograph the summits of the snow-capped peaks:
Jirishanca, Rondoy and Ninashanca. On the way we will find small waterfalls and rivers where we will be able to take long exposure photographs

ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY IN HUAYHUASH
On our trek, we will not only enjoy the landscapes during the day, but also at night.
The sky above the Huayhuash mountain range is one of the darkest in the world and one of the best for stargazing and astrophotography, thanks to its altitude and location far from artificial light pollution. We will provide a talk and advice every night so that participants can learn the technique of capturing the night sky and photograph the Milky Way.
DAY 07: Huayhuash
We will start very early in the morning to a strategic point to capture the first rays in front of the Nevado Jirishanca.
After breakfast we will start walking that will take us to cross on foot the Cordillera Huayhuash and we will appreciate the valley from the 4,750 mts. of the Cacanán Punta Pass.

After lunch our transportation will be waiting for us to take us to the city of Huaraz.

DAY 08: Huaraz Airport
After breakfast, we will transfer to Huaraz Airport (ATA) for the return trip to Lima.
Arrival at Lima Airport is scheduled for around 10:00 a.m.

The expedition will be led by Peruvian photographer Jheison Huerta and his team of collaborators.
He is the founder of the Photo Andes agency, which has been organizing photography tours since 2014 in some of the

He is currently a Sony brand ambassador as an Alpha Partner for Latin America. Jheison Huerta has received international recognition for his work in promoting astrophotography in Latin America, which earned him recognition fromNASA with the APOD (Astronomy Picture of the Day). He also teaches the astrophotography course on the Domestika website, and his work has been published in major media outlets: BBC, National Geographic, History, Mirror, Telemundo, Globo, El Comercio, and many more.
He was nominated by the Photopills app as one of the 25 most inspiring photographers in the world, and his work is featured
the book "Photopillers of the Year 2020."
He is currently collaborating with National GeographicUK on the production of the series"Welcome To The Earth," presented by Will Smith and broadcast on the Disney+ platform.
